Re: “Still in debt, Flemming plans another run” (thenewstribune.com, 4-19).

I am disturbed by yet another article written in a negative manner regarding Stan Flemming and his congressional race.

I am proud and honored to always support Flemming. Having worked closely with him, I know him to be one of the most kind-hearted, generous and smart individuals I know. In his 20- plus year military career, Flemming achieved the rank of brigadier general. Not everyone achieves this title, only a handful and only because of hard work and respect.

As a doctor he is well-loved and often still called upon by many of his former patients who continue to seek his guidance and advice. I have witnessed his outstanding love for his family as a husband and father. As a current Pierce County council member, he is well-respected and has assisted many of his constituents with problems ranging from land issues to a single-working mother who is struggling with expensive medical coverage.

Flemming’s résumé is above reproach. I am amazed he has achieved so much in his life, yet in knowing him I am not surprised. He is a strong leader, and we are fortunate to have him care so much about the people in Pierce County. I stand tall as a dedicated Republican. I stand tall as a friend and supporter of Stan Flemming.
