MARRIAGE: Hitler weighs in on the sanctity of marriage

With the Soviet army closing in on the Reichstag and only hours left to live, lifelong bachelor Adolf Hitler decided that the most important statement he could make to the world was to marry a nice German girl. What a boost for the sanctity of marriage!

The attorneys against gay marriage have lost with every argument they have put forth over the last four years of litigation: the sanctity of marriage, the inability to procreate, thousands of years of traditional marriage (going back to David and his seven wives and numerous concubines).

With its propensity to bring Hitler into every political discussion, I’m surprised the right hasn’t pointed to the dictator’s final act to support traditional marriage (just before he and Eva partook of their nuptial cyanide capsules).
