TNT: Cartoon mocked heroic murder victim

That was all I could come up with for a minute when I saw you chose to print a cartoon mocking the murder of Chris Kyle (TNT, 2-16). I had seen it elsewhere online, but never expected to see something that hateful and callous in your paper.

I have always known the News Tribune editorial staff tends to lean towards the left on most topics, including the military and gun control. In spite of that, I was under the impression you supported individual service members. Your decision to print that cartoon makes it abundantly clear how much you despise our individual military veterans and the service they have provided our country.

Chief Petty Officer Kyle served his country as a Navy SEAL sniper and saved countless American lives by killing at least 160 insurgents during his time at war. After leaving the military, he devoted his life to helping other veterans with PTSD and issues adjusting to civilian life. He is truly an American hero.

I’m not sure how you justify mocking the murder of anyone, let alone someone who has given so much of himself to our country and his fellow veterans. Perhaps that’s just business as usual at The News Tribune, and I missed the edition where you made fun of the children murdered in Newtown.
