IMMIGRATION: It’s time to stop the influx

America doesn’t need more people, so except for admitting certain highly skilled legal immigrants, we need to stop the influx before we are overrun. And while It is hard to blame poverty-stricken people who want to come here to better their lives, where does it all end?

There are 11 million illegal aliens here doing work that some American citizens could be doing if they didn’t think (correctly) that they could get by just about as well by not working. Now the Latino community is attempting (very successfully) to hold our representatives in Congress hostage by threatening bloc voting against anyone who does not go along with their demands. Talk about the tail wagging the dog.

Now our president tells us that we should open our arms and grant a “pathway to citizenship” to them, but any reasonable-minded person knows that if we do so we will dealing with at least twice that many in the next decade.

We all know that America is not going to round up and deport everyone who is here illegally, so while it might be reasonable to grant permanent worker status to them, we should not grant citizenship, which would allow them to bring in other family members.

Sharing may be a noble concept, but if all of the wealth of the world were shared equally, everyone would be living far below what is considered the poverty level in America.
