TACOMA: Taxes support vital services – like schools

My husband’s father always said he didn’t mind paying taxes because they funded services he and his family used: roads, sewers, libraries, parks, police, firefighters, medical providers, etc. My father said he didn’t mind paying taxes for schools and students because someone paid for his educational journey of 13 years.

My husband and I welcome the opportunity to pay taxes for services, safety, clean water and good schools.

Public schools give us a very specific venue to secure our future by supporting students and the buildings in which they are housed. Simply said, we can build and improve schools and programs throughout Tacoma – and help our children – by voting “yes” on Proposition 1 on Feb. 12.
