GUNS: Armed bullies should worry us

Re: “Lawmaker fearful, pulls self-defense legislation” (TNT, 1-19).

Rep. Sherry Appleton, D-Poulsbo, withdrew her House Bill 1012 in response to threats. I have to ask:
Isn’t it alarming that within the group of gun owners there are so many individuals who think it’s appropriate to send threatening messages – to an elected official, no less?

Aren’t these the very impulsive hotheads from whom the general public needs protection? Isn’t it reasonable to restrict their access to assault rifles and military ammunition?

Gun advocacy websites encouraged these people to bully Appleton into submission. Although I understand her unwillingness to stand up to them, it’s a sad comment on our society.
