GUNS: Tax bullets, clips to fund training and prevention programs

Re: “A targeted – not shotgun – approach to gun reforms” (editorial, 1-9).

It occurs to me that perhaps bullets should be taxed like cigarettes. If the National Rifle Association is correct in stating that guns do not kill people, but people kill people, then people without easy access to bullets for guns would definitely make us all safer.

Clips of bullets could be taxed the highest and single bullets the lowest. The state and federal revenue could be put to use funding training and prevention programs. Win, win.
