TNT: Stop practice of political endorsements

Thank you for your insightful feature, “The Editorial Pages: A reader’s guide” (TNT, 1-2).

I believe a free press is paramount to an open society, and your platform is effective and vital. I disagree, however, with your stated core mission of community leadership. I believe your core mission should be to inform without bias, slant or emotional rhetoric dressed in drama (communicated via the written word).

Political endorsements only make it easier for the lazy voter and are arbitrary at best. You should replace them with an in-depth candidate fact sheet so the reader can make an intelligent decision. But since you hold all the cards (First Amendment), your will to print what you want is absolute.
