CLICK: KOMO’s money grab is disappointing

I have always been proud of this region and its support of local business. Now one of our own, Fischer Communication and KOMO, fails us.

Tacoma’s Click Network is an incredible nonprofit that saves customers thousands of dollars a year by offering competition to cable giant Comcast. Now Fischer Communication, a Seattle-based company, is going after its neighbor. Fisher is trying to raise Click’s rates more than 200 percent in two years even though it is reporting record profits over the past two years.

It is sad that in this forward-thinking community, Fisher would not have the foresight to work with a nonprofit in their own back yard. I hope the people at Fisher will take a step back and realize how their greed is hurting their own community.
