ECONOMY: President isn’t up to the fiscal cliff task

Once again the president used the media as a political tool, with another useless “theatrical” set of remarks to the American people, this time complete with some democratic supporters lined up behind him.

The president has sent Vice President Joe Biden over to do the negotiating because the president is so inadequate at it. It is time the president put his big-boy pants on, rolled up his sleeves and did his own negotiating with a sincere conviction to get the debt resolved.

He had a debt-reduction committee of both parties work hard and come back with meaningful and obtainable proposals to him. Yet he seems to have ignored them because of the election year.

The president should be the one drawing both sides together in cooperation and compromise. He seems unable to accomplish the task. If he was working in the private sector he would have been fired by his board of directors long before now.
