TACOMA: Red-light runner courts financial ruin

Re: “Red-light ticket fight will cost you in Tacoma” (TNT, 12-23).

I hear complaints about red-light tickets a lot. Having almost been hit several times by drivers in a hurry, I think they’re a good idea.

So, should I or a loved one get hit (or killed), by a person running a red light, the cost of that ticket will be nothing compared to what the lawsuit is going to cost you – especially if you have just given notice publicly that you will run the light on purpose as Kevin Schmadeka did in the article.

That’s what you call premeditated, so go ahead and put your life and financial future in jeopardy rather than wait those extra two minutes. There’s no guarantee you’re going to make it through the very accident you cause either.
