SHOOTING: Concealed carrier could protect the public

How can you stop someone who has no criminal history, has no history of mental problems and has been a productive member of society?

Requiring private gun sales to do a background check the same as gun sales by registered firearm sellers would do very little to deter crime. This lack of such requirement, by the way, is what is known as the “gun show loophole.” I do not have the answer on stopping a tragedy such as in Connecticut, but I do not think we can legislate it.

I hope to never be in the audience of such a shooter. But when others are fleeing to safety, I will be facing the danger, very afraid, hoping to stop the madness by shooting the killer before your family or myself is killed. Legal concealed carry is a responsibility that I take somberly and seriously.

My prayers go out to all those involved in this latest senseless tragedy.
