Your state has legalized recreational marijuana for people over 21. Apparently no one in the entire state has been raised in a family where a parent regularly used marijuana. I can verify with absolute certainty that marijuana led to neglect.
I woke my brother up in the morning, got us dressed and ready for school, came home, cooked dinner, cleaned up, carried and did the laundry at the laundromat. All while my mother smoked pot.
I learned how to roll marijuana cigarettes, played with bongs and other drug paraphernalia, learned how to lie to the police, and was fed marijuana-laced brownies.
We lived on welfare, food stamps, free breakfast, free lunch at school and lived in low-income house in the projects.
When I was 15, my mother said I would grow up to be just like her. Instead, I finished high school, earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, got married, had two wonderful kids who are lavished with attention and love. All because I did not smoke pot.
