TRUCKS: Semis store trailers on county property

Many semi drivers have chosen to park and leave their trailers on Military Road and surrounding areas for free on county roads. In fact, on one corner of Military and 22nd Avenue in Spanaway, there are two trailers that have been parked for months on the corner blocking the stop sign.

If my car were to break down and I left it in the same place, I have a feeling that I would be towed. I wonder when it became OK for semi drivers to just unhook their trailers and use county property to store their trailers for free? And at the cost of causing an accident since the stop sign is blocked and they also are parked near a hydrant.

This not only is unsafe but brings down the quality of the neighborhood. Maybe Pierce County should start charging storage fees and generate some extra income. Just a thought.
