Re: “Complacency set the stage for attack in Benghazi” (editorial, 11-2).

One has to wonder if The News Tribune editorial staff actually reads their own columns. Your editorial trying to justify the current administration’s fumbling and coverup of the tragic Benghazi incident is stunning.

Four Americans were murdered by Islamic extremists. They begged for assistance before it happened. They pleaded in real time for help. They disobeyed orders to try to save their fellow Americans, and you believe that the president’s re-election effort justifies a total coverup and lies to the American people? And then you compare that to Mitt Romney’s remarks about FEMA ?

Your attitude and editorial are pathetic and shameful. Whatever happened to the attitude and support that it is imperative that everyone can do all possible to save American lives and for responsible media to support and attack any instance when an administration fails to do this ?

You basically say, oh well, expect that because it is an election on the line and everything should wait until afterward. Your disrespect for the saving of American lives and the truth is astounding. But then, you only write words for political purposes, not the truth or to stand behind saving Americans – unless it might suit you politically.
