BUSES: Reject Pierce Transit’s blatant gerrymandering

In one of the most blatant acts of gerrymandering in recent history, the Pierce Transit boundaries were redrawn to exclude the majority of those who rejected the measure the last time it came to the public for a vote. Pierce Transit and their cronies have stacked the deck in their favor to try to grab more money.

This measure isn’t about maintaining current service levels. It’s not even about improving service. It’s about getting a permanent raise to their income under the guise of providing service during a reduction in revenue.

This tax won’t go away when revenue increases as the economy improves; the agency will just increase the size of its coffers, spend to the max, and then whine and complain when the next economic downturn hits, saying that it can’t serve the community.

Reject this blatant money grab and Pierce Transit’s latest attempt to waste more of the taxpayer’s hard-earned money.
