ELECTION: Obama deserves our vote, appreciation

When I voted for Barack Obama in 2008, I wanted a president to keep our country safe; prevent a depression and get us out of the mess George W. Bush got us into; make the best effort to improve our health care; and preserve the programs hard-working Americans have invested their hard-earned money into, such as unemployment compensation, pensions, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other beneficial programs that help the poor and middle class.

President Obama has only disappointed me once, and that is his never-ending determination to compromise with the worst Congress in American history. It was a total waste of valuable time to deal with a group of thugs who have admitted their priority was to deny Obama a second term.

This disgraceful plan of anti-American ideals took place at a meeting the very same day Obama was being inaugurated. Rush Limbaugh continued his rants on a hateful path of racism and hatred toward an intelligent man whose only agenda was to guide us out of what looked like a depression comparable to the prior Great Depression.

Obama deserves our vote for a second term to continue his progressive path and finish the accomplishments he has led forward. He is a determined leader who will get the job done no other man is capable of accomplishing. Let us lean forward and give Obama our vote.
