ELECTION: Connelly a better fit for Tacoma

I am an independent voter, and I am voting for Jack Connelly.

Tacoma is multicultural and economically varied; we are Democrats, Republicans and a majority of us are independents. We are free thinkers, creative, artistic and love nature. We are liberal, conservative and everything in between.

I believe that Connelly is the best fit for Tacoma as state senator because of the work he has done in the Legislature, our community and through the courts to advocate for individual people and small businesses in order to change laws and improve safety and quality of life for us all.

I am concerned about Jeannie Darneille’s voting record as a state representative, which stands in stark contrast to the priorities of our community related to education, public safety and government accountability. Since Tacoma is an amazing and diverse city, we need a senator who respects every person, their unique voice and who can work with both sides of the aisle.

Connelly will be a senator for all people. He will have an open mind and fight for our kids and their education, our elderly and for safer neighborhoods. Darneille, on the other hand, seems to only represent one particular subgroup of our diverse, voting population.
