DEBATE: Biden’s theatrics bordered on abusive

I work with couples as part of my psychotherapy practice. When a spouse does not listen or give any credibility to his/her partner it means that person does not allow him/herself to be influenced by anything the other says and the relationship dies.

In the vice presidential debate, Joe Biden personified this; he would not give Paul Ryan any opportunity to influence him. He discounted Ryan. He blamed and tried to shame him. Biden was in a passive-aggressive rage with his smirking and calling Ryan “my friend.”

If you look at a description of a batterer – angry, discounting, not allowing influence, dominating, controlling through aggressiveness – who do you have? I listened to a critique of Biden’s performance from two psychotherapists, and they were so off the mark I felt the need to add my view.
