My good friend Bill Hilton has my enthusiastic support in his run for state representative in the 25th Legislative District. He is eminently qualified by virtue of his integrity, maturity, and career and real-life experiences. As an active community volunteer, he is effective, innovative and knowledgeable.
As a player on the Mount Tahoma High School football squad in the early 1970s, “Wild Bill” Hilton learned teamwork and skilled strategy under the tutelage of Coach Joe Stortini.
As a captain in the Washington State Patrol, over 30 years he developed strong leadership and conciliatory skills. A talented writer, he writes for and edits the Foothills Rails-to-Trails Coalition Trail Line News. A Toastmaster member, he hones his communication and leadership skills at our Morning Dews Club meetings each Tuesday morning.
As a Friends of the Riverwalk trail advocate, Hilton chairs our weekly meetings, patrols the trail, and works on beautification projects and other events. He also chairs the Puyallup Parks & Recreation Senior Advisory Board.
He is a Salvation Army Puyallup Food Bank volunteer and also performs a myriad of small but meaningul tasks for the elderly, like me, and for more challenged individuals. Hilton is not only a great listener but also loves to converse with folks. He has knocked on more than 15,000 doors during this campaign. He vows to make it 20,000 before Nov. 6. Bill wins my vote!
