DEBATE: What doesn’t Biden know?

Why does Vice President Joe Biden need four days in Delaware with seasoned debate coaches to prep for Thursday’s debate with Paul Ryan?

Does Biden need to memorize something he doesn’t already grasp after having been at President Obama’s side for almost four years and in the Senate for a quarter of a century? Is he rehearsing funny lines (Ryan, Mitt Romney and Barack Obama aren’t known for their hilarity, and Lord knows Americans love a good laugh).

We’re routinely told that Biden is a veteran debater and the White House’s most passionate defender of the working class. With all those years in the Senate and all that time in the White House and all that passion, why does Biden need to cram?

I can see why someone who has never held the office might need some coaching, but all that prep time for a “pro” begs the question: “What doesn’t Joe know?”
