TACOMA: City manager deserves congratulations

Tracey A. Thompson, principal officer of Teamsters Local 117, writes that the, “city manager is taking the wrong approach to solving the city’s longstanding budget crisis” Viewpoint (TNT, 10-6).

Does Thompson believe that Eric Anderson also took the “wrong approach” during his tenure as city manager?

She later suggests that the issues facing Tacoma are due to decreases in revenue and “misguided ballot initiatives.” Am I “misguided” because I don’t want to pay more in taxes?

City Manager T.C. Broadnax needs to be congratulated for taking steps necessary to keep Tacoma on a realistic and sustainable course so that those basic services that Thompson is concerned about continue.
