Re: “Connelly runs distorted ad” (letter, 9-21).

I appreciate the ads being run by state Senate candidate Jack Connelly’s campaign. Constituents need to know about bills sponsored by their legislators and the bills they have voted for.

Connelly’s opponent, state Rep. Jeannie Darneille, has consistently voted against public safety in a way that is surprising and alarming. This is important for people to know. In 2009, she even voted against defining the act of a school employee who becomes sexually involved with a student as sexual misconduct (House Bill 1385). Fortunately it passed on a significant bipartisan vote, 82-16.

I appreciate the work Connelly has done over the years in bringing about changes in the area of public safety. He has repeatedly held government accountable when it fails to do its job. This is the type of representation we need in Olympia.
