Congratulations to your readers. These are the most intelligent comments I have encountered. People are learning and thinking. Here is my two cents.
Every square inch on earth has been conquered by a group who were not kind to the former inhabitants and were resented in return. We ourselves are where we were born, or immigrated to ,and want this place to be an orderly and productive place for our descendants. To preserve this place we have to keep outside forces, and inside forces developing here from taking over and ruining this place. Few questions asked. Little blame assigned. Security first.

"Even if 80% of the dues paying members wanted to support, a Democrat why should the rest of the members be forced to contribute to help elect someone they don’t favor?"

Because this is how any organization based on the democratic principle works. The trade-off for having the goals of the organization not aligned with a member's goal is that, when they are aligned (in most cases), the individual's power to achieve that goal is multiplied. So, it is beneficial overall.

"State workers, paid by tax dollars, forced to join the union." Nobody is forced to take the unionized job. Go work in Walmart, if you don't want to join a union.

"State workers forced to pay (tax payer funded) dues and these dues are collected by the state." As much as you are forced to pay for that burger.

And as many times you spin "tax paid" or "tax funded", that does not change the fact that it is my money after it is paid to me, and I can do whatever I want with it. Otherwise, it's socialism/communism/redistribution/theft/whatever.

"State sends the unions a big check each month." I don't see what is wrong with this, besides that you wanted to make it look bad. It's just a process; can be considered additional service to union members, and may even be more efficient.

"Unions return those tax dollars, paid in the form of dues, back to democrats as huge campaign donations." Nothing wrogn with this; it is their right and choice, withing the limitation of the law, as for any other organization out there.

"Democrat governors ,that benefit from massive public sector union donations, sit down at the table and bargain for lavish wages and benefits." They are also responsible to their other constituents, so they still have to balance against demands for lower taxes and less waste.

The conflict of interest is no different from the one of any entity with vested interest (e.g. organazation of regulated businesses). This is how democratically elected government works, and the process is protected in the Constitution as freedom of assembly, speech and the right to petition the government.

"Can’t you see the cycle of corruption that is the public sector unions? "

I see the corruption in ANY freely funded election, there is no reason to single out the unions.

Get informed, use some logic and critical thinking , widen your epistemic sources, and you may feel less sick, and not see the more knowledgeable and intelligent people as idiots.

Can anyone cite an election in this state (or any other for that matter) in which a public employee union gave as much or more to a Republican candidate?

Even if 80% of the dues paying members wanted to support, a Democrat why should the rest of the members be forced to contribute to help elect someone they don't favor?

You idiots out there must like this arrangement, you keep electing the same people that dip their hands in YOUR pockets, take money away from you and your family, and give to unions.
