I wondered why I now have no interest in watching anything of the Republican and Democratic conventions. There was a time when I would be glued to the TV at convention time. In fact, in 1972 I was an Oklahoma delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Miami Beach, Fla., casting my vote for George McGovern.
But now I could care less whether it is Barack Obama or Mitt Romney, because they are not the issue. The issue is who controls the Democratic and Republican parties; who controls the White House and Congress.
The answer is so clear now; it is Big Money – the 1 percent. We the people are ignored except to manipulate us to vote for the candidates of the respective parties. But once in power these elected officials, with some few exceptions, do the bidding of their powerful financiers, the big corporations and millionaires.
Currently there is only one viable candidate who is not bought and controlled by Big Money, who is now on 33 state ballots, including Washington, and as a write-in in three other states and will most likely be on 40 states before November. This one candidate, bought and owned by we the people, is Green Party’s Dr. Jill Stein.
I find interest in reading her platform that is so different from what the Democrats and Republicans do in the Beltway. It is a platform that benefits the 99 percent.
