I wish I could have joined well-wishers at the retirement party for Kathleen Merryman, and I’d like to extend my good wishes to her. This talented journalist/writer has contributed greatly to the popularity of The News Tribune over the years, highlighting the contributions of people in her community by writing columns that reflect life in the South Sound.

Her words — friendly, warm, nonjudgmental — will remain a living record of that life. I feel privileged to have been one of her readers. Thank you, Kathleen, and enjoy your next adventure.

  1. blakeshouse says:

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Merryman has always been a political hack for the socialist left in this state. I just hope her replacement has at least a bit of balance to his/her columns, but that is just a pipe dream considering we are talking about the TNT

  2. Frankenchrist says:

Yet you continue to read the TNT…

  3. Imbalanced, one-sided reporting, TNT as a whole

  4. Pecksbadboy says:

Life of the banal and boring.

She is the modern day equivalent of the Society Page (OK youngsters, look it up).

  5. BlaineCGarver says:

Mary Poppins has retired. I wish her the best.
