Amen to IQof88 - Jim Kastama was vilified by his own party when he worked with both sides to balance the budget this last year. How can anyone say that he is in the pockets of special interests? Of all of the reps that we've had in Olympia, he's the least likely that you can point the finger at for that one.

Jim is a realist, hard worker, sees issues from all sides, a compassionate citizen, well read and understands local, national and international issues.

Even the Seattle Times is suggesting Kastama all of the above reasons and more.

Jim Kastama is the right man for the job.

IQof88 - "He has managed to alienate both democrats and republicans alike...".
For me, that is a plus. I don't know which special interests you are referring to, but to suggest that Ds and Rs are NOT also bought and sold by special interests is just plain ignorant.

I don't know much about others running for the office of Secretary of State, but I do something about Jim Kastama.

My wife is disabled and after I called his office a few years ago concerning the way many people abuse the handicapped parking situation, he came to our home, listened to our concerns, and invited me down to Olympia so that I was able to express my thoughts to the Transportation Committee.

My wife and I are two Republicans who will be voting for him in the upcoming primary election.

Kastama is a unifier in local politics. He has managed to alienate both democrats and republicans alike who in recent years have despised his devotion to special interests. What is unusual, but no surprise is that him home district who know him best are his main detractors.
