ROMNEY: Praise for Israel’s socialistic health care

I was thrilled to hear Mitt Romney praise the Israeli health system, noting it is more cost-effective than our American system.

For years I have asked why can we Americans not have a medical delivery system like the Israelis’? We American taxpayers send billions to Israel – unaudited, hence fungible – so at least some of those dollars must go to its health system.

I have been there. I agree that it has a great system. Everyone is covered, and it doesn’t even have that pesky “mandate” about buying insurance. The Israelis’ taxes (supplemented by some of ours) pay for it all. Of course, their system is pure “socialism,” but what’s in a word, especially if Mitt “Mr. Bain Capital” Romney says it is “cost-effective”?

Regardless of the outcome of the election, can we count on Romney to champion national health care for us Americans?
