ELECTION: Scare tactics don’t work in the 27th

I recently received Jack Connelly’s “Anxious lady/cop cars/crime scene” campaign ad in the mail, and I’m sorry to say, it really doesn’t help his cause in my mind.

I know nothing about him, except that he has enough money to put a ton of signs all over town and that his position on reproductive rights is not at all clear. I have, however, met 27th District state Rep. Jeannie Darneille on a few occasions, and I know she is a compassionate woman who has the well-being of people in mind when making her legislative choices. She has a positive vision of the world and of the future.

What the ad leads me to believe is that Connelly has a vision of the future that includes repression and cops everywhere. That’s the image that came to my mind when I received this aggressive campaign ad on a beautiful Thursday afternoon.

Better luck next time convincing me why my preference should go with Connelly.
