ELECTION: Inslee making headway against McKenna

For the first time since the gubernatorial election started gaining traction, Democrat Jay Inslee is leading in a new Elway poll. Inslee has surpassed Rob McKenna with a 43-36 percent lead. Another poll released by KING-TV shows McKenna having a small lead on Inslee at 42-41 percent. Though McKenna has a slight lead in that poll Inslee has still gained on the republican.

The negative news stories that have come out about McKenna recently could be contributing to his drop in the polls. Over the last month, McKenna has failed to answer questions about gun control and his feelings on the overturn of the Affordable Care Act and a member of his staff was found to have tweeted inappropriate comments about Asian Americans and the elderly.

Another possibility for Inslee’s gain in the polls is because of the TV ad he released earlier in the month. Members of my family and the community who I have talked to said they all really enjoyed the ad and it made some of them go from undecided voters to Inslee supporters.

I hope that the support Inslee has gained in the last few weeks will stay with him until the vital general election in November.

26 Attorney Generals got an important lesson in the law from the Supreme Court. Wasting taxpayer $$$$ on partisan politics was an insult to the taxpayers in 26 states. It is one thing to disagree over the law—it is quite another to, in this state, go against both the Governor and the Legislature in pursuit of partisan politics……..And, OUR money got flushed so he could impress the RNC………Bad call and I hope he pays the price in November. He is a decent Attorney General and got too caught up in a wave of real partisan animus…..those kind of judgement calls will affect some votes. Mine included.

  2. Ortingmom says:

    Vote for McKenna :)

  3. god please not another christine please no inslee,we need mckenna to get this state on the right track agin.

  5. philichi says:

Our state isn’t California yet. However, a few more Democrat budgets and we will be downgraded. Inslee is simply one more in a long list of the same party rule. God save our state. Vote McKenna.

  6. Sorry that so many are blinded by party labels but McKenna is not an alternative to Inslee.

Instead of choosing between two liberals, vote for a real man of the people – Shahram Hadian. http://www.hadian2012.com

  7. CrazyJim says:

Taking a second look at McKenna people might not want to take a chance on getting a Walker, Corbett, Brownback or Lepage who are extreme and dysfunctional.

The best way of looking at what the GOP’s future will be, regarding their gubernatorial candidates is to look at their past. Washington is a progressive state, not one that wants to regress into the politics of Kochdom.

  8. CrazyJim says:

There is a Muslim behind ever tree Shahram Hadian.

What? About 2% of the vote? The tea crazies!

  9. Unfortunately, McKenna has sold out to the Koch brothers which is bad. They want to rob our first responders retirement benefits and if you don’t think that is wrong you are crazy. Instead of feeling they shouldn’t have their retirement, we should be saying to our employers, why don’t we have a decent retirement plan. 100% of firefighters retire with some sort of disability. For some godforsaken reason the republicans want to rob the firefighters and police officers retirement fund in this state. I don’t see how they can steal this money but they want to take it. My son has been a firefighter for eight years and he pays into this himself and he has not had more than a 1% raise in years (agreed upon for cost savings and ability to hire more to help the community). Think about this. These are your first line of defense in your community and the GOP wants them cut back — I have no idea why Romney and our local GOP is wanting to attack them? What the hell is that about? I think they want us left with no protection — so who the hell will protect them? Perhaps if they keep being anti-fire and police we should make sure their homes are taken off the list for protection first?
