PUYALLUP: Why should citizens pay for mayor’s sensitivity training?

I don’t understand why the City of Puyallup should pay $1,700 for Mayor Rick Hansen to take sensitivity training. His salary is way above the average citizen’s; he should have paid it himself.

This money could be used for some citizens who are trying to put food on their table. Plus as a mature man he should have known better.

  1. Well said.

  2. Wonder if the City would pay as much for someone who was not the mayor.

  3. normajean says:

He is in wrong job. Would any employee anywhere be given that opportunity to ”learn” sensitivity awareness. No that person would simply be fired – end of story

  4. Scottc51 says:

That should be paid by him, not the taxpayers.

  5. nonstopjoe says:

Voters who elected people to the city council should get brain scans to see if there’s anything there.

  6. PositiveNews says:

Totally agree, he should pay for it himself!

  7. MrCarleone says:

    WELL Mayor Hansen .

You going to man-up and take care of this obligation ?

  8. ValleyTown says:

Do any of you know how much the city budget is? $1,700 is not even a rounding error of a rounding error. They should send the other 6 council members to the same training.
