HEALTH: Americans support increased access

The Republican leadership again tries to repudiate the law of the land. They blatantly ignore the fact that President Obama was quite clear on his goal to institute a national health care system when he sought election four years ago.

The Republican leadership wants to frame the health care plan as being objectionable to the majority of Americans. This is clearly not true, and those of us who welcome a plan for universal health care must be just as vocal in supporting the concept, allowing it to develop with inevitable changes and tweaks, as long as the right to good health care is not gutted in favor of only those who can afford it.

  1. Many recent polls show the only thing most republicons have against Obamacare is the Obama part of the title.

  2. Republicans are against every democratic initiative, that’s great, but they offer no sound alternatives!

  3. BORG? I would like to hear the alternatives from the other party too. But so far their only accomplishment has been to block or overturn everything that comes their way which leads me to believe they don’t want things to get better for the average american.

  4. Spot on Frida! Back seat driver party!

Would still like to see universal health care benefiting all except the insurance companies. We have seen a good first baby step in that direction

  6. BlaineCGarver says:

As a Republician, I demand that my party block the socialist BS oozing from the mouths of DC ‘Crats….It’s their sworn duty to protect the constitution. Personally, I support universal care for all, but am outraged that Big Health Insurance has any part of it. Put together a NON-PROFIT CoOp single payer funded by a VAT or Sales Tax that EVERYONE pays into, and I’m there. I’m personally disgusted carrying the bums on my back, and so are the majority of WORKING, TAX paying Americans. The 50% ish of the people that pay no income tax, I’m sure, are tickled pink that their free ride looks like it will continue.

  7. BGC – so sorry – but SCOTUS just decided that Obamacare is constitutional.

BTW – univesal care ran by the government without the Health Insurance compaies is SOCIALISM.
