WARS: World peace must be our goal

Six others joined me to listen to President Obama’s excellent State of the Union speech. It was a comprehensive answer to today’s problems and how he hopes to pay off the national debt, partially by using half of the money saved by bringing our troops home from overseas.

Wars are costly and full of sorrow. I am 88 and have put four children through college and appreciate the Social Security and Medicare that I receive.

I am asking the president and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden to try to bring peace on earth along with their other work. We must learn to be kind and love and respect each other. It can be done.

I truly hope you are correct Bernice, that Peace on Earth “can be done.”

I always liked the bumpersticker I saw years ago that read…
