Re: “3 solutions can raise revenue and put state’s budget on the road to recovery” (Viewpoint, 11-8).

Let me compliment Remy Trupin for the courage to say new taxes are needed and the wisdom to suggest a solid plan of action for the budget crisis that has devastated Washington state.

How did we get to this point of economic devastation? Waste in government spending leads the list, however I believe we have been brainwashed by media and the tea party to think that cutting taxes will benefit most of Washington.

Well by now we can easily see that this mindset is destroying Washington at a fast rate. Most of us fell for this brainwashing and voted no new taxes and now we don’t have a job. Was it worth it?

Isn’t the welfare of the most vulnerable worth a penny or two in new taxes? Let’s join Trupin and push his three-point solution in Olympia.
