I recently spent time talking with Karen Smitherman, who is running for Tacoma City Council. As a former teacher myself, we shared our concern for our children’s education and general welfare in an age which demands excellence more than ever from our schools and local communities. Karen has the experience and the compassion which are so necessary in helping the City Council make the wisest decisions affecting the future of our young people. Please allow her voice to take its place on the Tacoma City Council November 8.

  1. No thanks. I wrote in a name for that position.

  2. Pecksbadboy says:

You need to be more than a teacher with compassion for young people to represent the entire city on the city council. A more rounded candidate is needed here.

  3. tree_guy says:

According to the candidate’s website she can make a mean pan of snickerdoodles, whatever that is. If the council is split on a thorny issue perhaps Karen could settle the matter with a bake-off!

  4. PumainTacoma says:

No thank you anyone who is endorsed by crony politicians, an elder exploiter and Tacoma’s good old boy network doesnt deserve our votes. Smitherman endorsements scare even Tacoma voters.
