PIERCE COUNTY: Waller Road traffic an issue

Since Waller Road has become a detour for 176th Street East, many issues have arisen.

Starting at 5 a.m., we have cars blaring through our neighborhood at high speeds with radios blasting. We are picking up litter on a daily basis which has never been an issue. Our neighbors’ dogs have also escaped being hit by a car a few times.

We do not ride horses on our road because of people driving recklessly. One of the worst offenders are the big trucks carrying supplies to Waller and Canyon roads.

We would like to invite local law enforcement to sit on Waller and write tickets. Since these tickets are double since it is a work zone, we will have enough money for education in about a week.

Be respectful of our homes and families. We work hard to have a peaceful living. We live here and pay taxes. How would you feel if we drove like this in your neighborhood?

We are tired of the cars driving down Waller at 176th twice the 25mph speed limit. We cannot leave our gates open and and we cannot ride our horses because cars start speeding down our street at 5am.This used to be a great street with families and not much litter and traffic issues.I had people giving me the finger because I did not turn into my driveway fast enough and they had to slow down.We invite the police to sit in our driveways and hand out tickets.PLEASE!.Our road does not get plowed and when trees fall in the Winter due to storms it is the residents out in the cold removing the trees so you can speed down our street. So now..Please watch out!We will not be removing any trees and will wait to see if the county will do this task and maybe that will slow you down.Guess what folks? Most of us own our house outright and have had to work to keep our way of life.It shows us that people have no self respect nor respect for others by their lack of consideration. Also we find it curious since Waller and Military Intersection has been labeled for years by our neighborhood as THE DEATH CORNER.Don’t want to slow down? Then watch out because we that live on Waller will no longer clear the roads for your speeding enjoyment.
