The City of Puyallup has a lot of reasons to celebrate.
Hanging baskets grace Meridian Avenue and Pioneer Park. In the heart of the city, Pioneer Pavilion and the playground are always busy. Other Puyallup parks are also a welcome spot for everyone, from young families to seniors sitting in the sun.
Having had a relationship with the city since the 1990s, I’ve seen many changes. Most recently, it has been very disappointing to see the behavior of some City Council members who insist on engaging in petty arguments. Some are highly disrespectful and bullying.
For the past two years, I’ve watched Nicole Martineau in her position as a council member. She is an obvious professional as she helps to carry out the business of the city. She is smart, strong and always comes to the council meetings well prepared. Those who have attended or viewed council meetings have seen how ably she handles herself under the most difficult circumstances imaginable.
Now she’s running for the council’s at-large position on the council. Her campaign slogan says it all: We need her “For a Positive, Productive Puyallup.” She has my vote.
