POLITICS: What difference do labels make?

Re: “Pew‘s America: 9 sets of beliefs in a 2-party system” (Peter Callaghan column, 5-8).

The Pew Research Center quiz was interesting, and I agree that we are not a polarized either-or nation. However, what difference does it make if the person elected does not fulfill the promises he or she made during their campaign and they are either unwilling or unable to enact the legislation that their supporters were expecting?

    Isn’t interesting that libs want labels on just about everything: food, medication, laundry detergent, vitamins, power tools, blacks, whites, Asians, christians, neo-cons, etc. Just about everything BUT themselves. This is the essence of the “no labels” crowd.
