Re: “Police chieflied to citizens,’ review board member says” (TNT, 5-6).

I’ve known Tacoma Police Chief Don Ramsdell for 20 years, and I’ve personally seen what high standards he holds for himself and for his family. I also know he was up more than 36 hours working on Zina Linnik’s abduction case in 2007 and was personally so distraught when they found her.

I realize this is a report on the review board meeting and how member Trisha King Stargel was so outspoken in saying she hated “to be lied to.” But the five other members were not as showcased. To have a headline that states the chief “lied to citizens” slanders a man who has worked tirelessly for the past nine years to keep our city safe.

I’m personally offended and will, in the future, read the articles from this newspaper with a cynical eye.
