TACOMA: Poor food availability for conference at Tacoma Dome

I attended a conference with more than 6,300 people attending Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome. I was embarrassed for our city by the poor availability of food at the Tacoma Dome.

The food was cooked to order, and most people were unable to get anything to eat. If the City of Tacoma wants people to go to the Tacoma Dome, it needs to get organized and do a better job.

If you were in the conference with 6,300 people the conference organizers were responsible for ordering catering. The Dome does what the Dome does with food: it serves up at a service bar. Want more? Pay more.

Yes, this is something the organizers should have taken care of.

Gosh I am SO sorry that our busy city wasn’t able to stop everything on our strapped budget and zip over to your holy roller seminar and spoon feed you. . .

  4. Mary, if the dome staff knows that the conference organizers are allowing you to leave and return. Then the dome more and likely assumed that you are going leave and go to the freight house square were their all varieties of food from subs to Chinese food. Because if the dome had the impression that they event was going to be a money maker then they would have had the restaurant opened. Beside what did you expect from a place that their main events are concerts & monster trucks?
Any way the Conference organizers could have paid the Dome to provide better food then just charged those attending extra for it. Believe me then the food would have been better I seen some of the meals they prepare for the road crew for the concerts and for the Christmas tree gala when I worked there

. Mary, would you like cheese with that whine? Oh sorry, the T-Dome doesn’t serve either of those. I thought you went to the conference to hear the word of God, I know I did. One of the things that Jesus did was fast; maybe you should have taken that opportunity to emulate our Savior?

I hope you got something more out of the conference other then the lack of food.
