I am a retired baby boomer now on a fixed income. My two children have long ago graduated from college. One of my volunteer “jobs” is working with youth. Our youth are nothing if not intelligent, dynamic, motivated, amazing young people.
The Peninsula School District and our schools are vital to our community. We, as a society, have an obligation to our youth, ourselves, our country and the world to ensure that the future leaders and workers receive the very best education possible. Yes, I fully believe that today’s children are our future.
Pierce Transit is an extremely valuable resource for our community. Not only does it help reduce congestion and pollution, but it is if critical importance to those who have no other viable means of transportation.
I fully understand that the economy is bad, the worst I have personally experienced, especially after I was fired from my job of 29 years. But please, let us not be shortsighted. Let us act responsibly and look toward the future.
Join me in fully supporting both PSD’s capital bond program and the Pierce Transit tax issue.
