EDUCATION: Don’t enable Democrats’ agenda

Letter by Evelyn Reynolds, Tumwater on Jan. 13, 2011 at 1:35 pm with 4 Comments »

Gov. Chris Gregoire proposes bringing all education under one umbrella. What is under this umbrella?

The governor’s solution to education “budget cuts” would replace five high-level positions, one of which is elected by citizens, with 13 high-level positions, all appointed by the governor.

That would give the right to change the state education system to a socialist curriculum, or whatever fits the current Democrat political agenda, solely to the appointees. Why would anyone in a free country want to pay taxes for that?

Wake up, America, or we better start learning Chinese.

  1. JudasEscargot says:

“Wake up, America, or we better start learning Chinese”

How about just learning “The check is in the mail” in Chinese?

Now it’s socialist to try to cut expenses as the TEA Party has screamed for.

I’m waiting for them to call banking socialist.

  2. Well. I have it covered.. I have invested in a Chinese fortune cookie factory whose fortunes are all written in Spanish.
Don’t forget to be scared, Evelyn. The republicans work hard to make sure you stay scared.

  3. Here we go with socialist again. There must be a word shortage or is it simple ignorance about how to write from original thought? Oh, and by the way Evelyn, Mr. Richard Davis, you know, the guy who writes from a libertarian perspective? He mostly agrees with the Governor’s idea.

  4. Is no one else upset at how the right twists everything to scare Gramma?
I’m sure Granny wants her “country back” and is just hoping to avoid the “death panels”, but goodness, how we’ve been misled.
By the way…we’ve been socialist for something like 80 years, give-or-take.
