We have been made aware of a desperate mailer, intended to smear Paul Wagemann, by insinuating that he exhibited financial mismanagement in the development of The Commencement project in Ruston.

We would like to set the record straight: He is acting responsibly and diligently to ensure that all subcontractors and suppliers are paid. Despite today’s catastrophic climate in the construction and commercial-banking industries, Wagemann is determined to complete this project.

Those of us who work in the construction industry know all too well the devastation caused by the commercial-lending crisis and poor economic conditions. Federal dollars are not getting out of banks for construction loans, causing foreclosures, liens and bankruptcy.

Wagemann’s experience and leadership in handling commerce in this tough recession makes him more qualified than ever to stand strong in the state House as our representative.

What has Tami Green done in her years in Olympia to assist the small businessperson or the construction industry? Her record for the last year alone shows her to be a strong deterrent to any favorable business climate, including her votes to add new taxes.

Wagemann’s proven record of service, leadership and accountability has prepared him to represent our needs in Olympia.
