ELECTION: Murray forces taxpayers to subsidize her campaign

As all you commuters are stuck on the closed down freeways forced to unwittingly add to global warming with your car exhaust this week in the Puget Sound area, consider this: The taxpayers are being forced to subsidize Patty Murray’s campaign.

It costs millions of dollars to fly VP Biden, former President Clinton, President Obama, and Mrs. Obama in Air Force One and Two and all the requisite support vehicles and helicopters, etc. It costs tremendous overtime for the police to subsidize the Secret Service presence and guard the locations that the VIPs will speak at. One of those locations, UW Tacoma is a State college!

Travel on the roads near those locations will be restricted. The freeways will be shut down for hours over the coming week as the limousines whisk the VIPs to their destinations. Airspace will be restricted. Commerce will cease.

How many people will be stuck in traffic trying to conduct business or return to their families? How much productivity will be lost due to canceled meetings or workers staying home due to frustration at the closures?

Yes, you the taxpayers pay for all this. You are subsidizing Murray’s campaign by paying millions for her DC friends to come here. But hey – it’s not HER money, why should she care? Send a message to stop spending YOUR tax money and vote to stop the out of control spending.

Vote for fiscal responsibility. Rossi is the responsible choice. Rossi is the best choice for our country.

I love your letter………says it wonderfully! Thanks!

  2. OldLefty says:

Harvey, did you just come out of your cave??????

Bush lived on the road supporting other candidates, not to mention his midnight ride on Airforce One to come to the aid of his brother in Florida on the Terry Schavio issue. Who picked up the freight when other GOP presidents campaigned for Congress members?

    You must be from HACKinsack.

  3. uratroll says:

I don’t think any public official should be campaigning for anybody on the taxpayer dime. If they want to stump for somebody they can use that persons campaign fund or party affiliation money…not mine!

  4. UWT was paid for the use of their facilities.

  5. The exact cost to the taxpayers to bring all these people here is ZERO. Federal law prohibits use of federal funds for partisan politics.

  6. the3rdpigshouse says:

Rossi is a cocncerned patriotic American who does not like the direction the socialist democrats are taking our nation!! He will be a breath of fresh air to a Congress that is nothing more than a rubber stamp for the marxist/socialist “OH-Bummer” !!!

  7. Sumner401 says:

Hey Harvey, when the failed bush and his buddies did the same thing and when the next failure republicans do it, will they do it for free?

  8. There are always questions when a President travels for partisan political reasons; however, there is no evidence that either Mr. Bush or Mr. Obama ever violated the letter or spirit of the federal laws on presidential travel.
