Re: “Get state out of liquor sales” (editorial, 10-17).

I have a dog in this fight, actually a pack. I have been a liquor store clerk since 1998. Everyone is addressing underage sales. No one is bringing up theft.

Liquor is a drug. It is stolen, sold and bartered as such. Is the clerk at your corner store going to gently confront everyone and ask for ID when groups of four and six come through the door? Will he/she ask for the bottle back that just went down the front of the pants, in the purse, into the pocket?

Half pint heaven is coming. How lucky are we?

  1. It’s not coming if we don’t vote it in. Costco makes it sound like everybody wants this, but it isn’t true.

  2. Ronv – I agree with you. Better in 1100/1105 don’t pass.

  3. liquorlady says:

Costco, bless there hearts, wants to provide their customer’s with affordable liquor. Now that is of importance to Washington citizens. If they care so much about their customers how about they return the profits if this passes back to the general fund and the cities and counties. That is how they can best serve their customers.
