ELECTION: Reconsider endorsing incumbents

Letter by Barbara N. Street , Lakewood on Oct. 14, 2010 at 11:36 am with 13 Comments »

Well, you certainly ruined my Sunday. After a heart-warming family birthday celebration, Bill and I finished cleaning up, and only then did I have time to open the Sunday News Tribune to find that you have endorsed Patty Murray for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

Then in the next day or two or three, you continued to endorse every incumbent to the U.S. House of Representatives and even the 28th Legislative District.

Can’t you figure out what is wrong with this wonderful nation of ours? Who we should put in office in are new representatives with new ideas, new principles and fewer entrenched commitments. Your are instead recommending perpetuating the status quo with the same old politicians.

But what should Bill and I care; we are octogenarians and probably will have taken our final curtain calls before you all have to deal with it.

One person’s dispair is another person’s hope. We were ecstatic that TNT editorial staff had the wisdom to support the more experienced, progressive candidate for senator.

  2. Dear theogsters, just what has this “experienced, progressive candidate” managed to do for us in all her years as an elected official? Unbridled spending, debt spiriling out of control, and the list goes on and on. We cannot afford any more of this “experience”.

  3. You’re right Barbara, there are some, such as the first poster who are gluttons for punishment. They think that giving gays the “right” to marry will solve allof the problems in this country. They don’t get it because they are stuck on stupid.

Barb, why then did you bother writing your letter?
You should be able to tell that Senator Murray is the better choice if you want fair and equal treatment for your fellow citizens. Then too, the spending and taxes she has been involved with are appropriate and proper for these times.
Mr. Rossi is a multiple time loser and will not treat seniors fairly, I can guarantee.

  5. Sumner401 says:

Gosh Babs, can’t YOU figure out whats wrong with the nation?
You’ve voted for whats wrong and you fully support whats wrong for a very long time, why can’t you figure it out?
Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is the definition of insane Babs, try something else.
Conservatism is what’s wrong Babs, it’s why we are in trouble.

  6. uratroll says:

    Mrs. Street,
Murray is a loser with loser idea’s that are not working and she knows it. The lefties know it too. She’s is desperate, and so is her party. Why else would we get the opportunity, as taxpayers, to get to pay to have Fightin’ Joe-stand up Chuck-Biteme-Biden and the annointed one-Hussein to fly in here twice to try and glad hand some votes for her? Hope and Change? Vote.

  7. Oh how powerful these liberals be,
They curse us and damn our nation,
Even when the minority they be.

  8. Concernedfather says:

    Vote out the inSCUMbents!

Now, just the other day, we had a comment about Norm Dicks not being able to do anything if re-elected because he’ll be in the minority.

If Patty Murray was in the minority 12 of 18 years (which she was) how can she be responsible for the ” Unbridled spending, debt spiriling out of control, and the list goes on and on”

Both sides of your conservative mouths are moving.

Geez…..and here I though you were a “concerned father”. Now I realize you are just another in a long line of pubescent namecalling Conservatives.

Are you voting against the incumbent Republicans?

  11. eagle_beak says:
