ELECTION: Muri will work to undo Democrats’ damage

Letter by Bradley L. Coon, Puyallup on Oct. 12, 2010 at 1:59 pm with 16 Comments »

It seems many readers support Adam Smith because he supports veterans. If elected, Dick Muri will support our military every bit as much as Smith has done. Therefore, consider other reasons for casting your vote.

In the past, Smith has been touted as a moderate but he has voted with Nancy Pelosi’s agenda more than 96 percent of the time. He supported all of the bailouts even though the Inspector General has stated that the fraud and waste has run into the hundreds of millions of dollars.

He voted for the cap and trade bill even though it will cost the average family close to $1,600 more in energy costs when fully implemented. When Congress was getting ready to pass Obamacare, the Republicans offered an amendment to put Congress in the same plan as the rest of the country but the Democrats said no way.

Smith went along with the party on the financial reform law even though it did nothing about the real money losers, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Muri will work to undo the damage caused by the Pelosi agenda whereas Smith will only continue to support more of the same.

  1. Republican Mumbles
The letter, I am sure, sounds good to the republicans out there, but its claims are mostly false. It seems to be the pattern for them in political discourse these days. Boil everything down to a statement that satisfies all the while leaving out annoying facts that speak to what actually is going on. It’s the same as mumbling…….over and over again.

  2. lgcnelson84 says:

What about these claims are false, Publico? If you’re going to complain about no facts in the letter, then you sure as heck should use facts when refuting what you claim to be false.

Unless of course you’re just an ignorant lefty who only listens to one side of the story before making decisions and calling it fact. I’d hate to think that’s the case.

    OK, I’ll bite.
He insinuates that the bailouts were only bad, when in fact there is a huge positive aspect to them. Look it up.
He insinuates that cap and trade is bad because of the dollar cost while ignoring the positive aspects. Look it up.
Fanny and Freddy are not the problem so to not address them is, for him, a smoke screen for his not liking financial regulation.
The democrats accomplishments have not caused any damage. As a matter of fact they have cured some ills and more could have been done except for the obstructionism of the republicans who don’t want any progress on the democrats side of the ledger.
    So there!

  4. nwcolorist says:

One thing is certain – if we keep electing the same people to represent us, we’ll get the same results as before.

  5. aislander says:

Since you are so fond of reference works, Publico, YOU should look up the difference in the definitions of “fact” and “opinion…”

  6. iamjimbo says:

    Publico… “He’s baaaak!!!”

  7. Sumner401 says:

Is the party line talking points the only thing the right has?
Do any of you republicans have any original thoughts?

  8. the3rdpigshouse says:

Smith is an obedient socialist democrat who no longer represents the wishes of the majority of the electorate – he deserves to be routed from his position of trust!!!

  9. CrazyJim says:

Muri, like Rossi, belong to the party that screwed up the country in the first place. If you like the trickle down thingy vote for them. I’m not.

  10. Novelist3 says:

    Muri is a Democrat?

  11. Sumner401 says:

We need to undo the republican damage before we can get to the Democrats damage…..should take another 75 years and the republican damage will be at least slowed down.

  12. lgcnelson84 says:

CrazyJim said “Muri, like Rossi, belong to the party that screwed up the country in the first place. If you like the trickle down thingy vote for them. I’m not.” – Is that like the: What came first, the chicken or the egg, argument? We have to look back pretty far to really determine who screwed us up first….

Publico – again, you merely gave me your own opinion, facts includes sites to references… which you gave none. Telling someone to look up an opinion means you have no facts to back up your positions.

  13. Muri better undo the damage, or he will be booted out s well. It’s conservative-ism or chaos, as Obomba has shown us.

  14. Novelist3 says:

Don’t worry, ItalianSpring. Just gotta wait till November to stop the bleeding. Course that’ll just mean more whining from idiots like Sumner, but I figure he’ll shut up after a few months.

  15. iamjimbo says:

She can always change her… nevermind.

  16. If Rossi wins in November he’ll take office in January. That’s how long the right will have to celebrate.
