FEDERAL WAY: City has bigger problems than baristas’ attire

Re: “Federal Way to vote how much skin bikini baristas can bare” (TNT, 9-21).

The Federal Way City Council amended a law to protect the citizens from viewing something offensive. Have they taken a good look around town lately? The least of their concerns should be the attire of coffee vendors.

If a barista in a skimpy bikini is a misdemeanor, then an overweight woman in Spandex surely must be a felony.

  1. Well put B.A.

  2. The logic is impeccable.

  3. Concernedfather says:

    Obesity is a HUGE problem.
A thong bikini is really such a little thing.

  4. headedsouth says:

Well done. Obese people should be made to walk around in public in a bikini or speedo – the embarrasement would help get them on the right path of losing weight so they did not have so many health problems that cost taxpayers millions of dollars a year.

I’m appalled that this letter was allowed to go to print.

  6. readingthelatest says:

I am appalled that the only thing that gets people involved with government anymore is sex and taxes. These letters get more responses when the opener is about the Tea Party or about something sexual.

The letter writer is correct in his frustrations. We are still being taught that skin is the devil’s slipcover.

  7. WarmNfuzziOne says:

It’s utterly amazing that in out time, bikinni baristas are a concern of government.

We’ve got hungry people out there, others trying to start businesses but can’t because of excessive government regulations, employers who are hesitatant to hire because of the new medical entitlement, and Federal Way officials are worried about bikinni baristas???
