EDUCATION: NBC congregates ‘educational folklorists’

An educational folklorist is a person who supports and promotes learning fallacies, often for personal gain, at the expense of others.

NBC will be hosting Education Nation at the Rockefeller Center beginning on Sept 26. This will be one of the largest congregations of educational folklorists in the nation. The purpose of Education Nation is to improve education in our schools, which is commendable. But what are we to expect?

If an educational folklorist has a heart problem, they would not consult with another educational folklorist about their health problem. They would see a cardiologist. However, when it comes to improving education in our schools, will they consult with behavior scientists who are experts on human learning or educational psychologists to see if the school’s curriculum is relevant and the school’s theories of learning are sound?

No way! They only will consult with other educational folklorists or the guy on the street. So one generation of educational folklorists creates the next generation of educational folklorists, and the beat goes on.
