ELECTION: In defense of Hans Zeiger

As Hans Zeiger’s grandmother, I would like to come to his defense.

When he was just a little boy, I took him to visit our state Capitol in Olympia. When we toured it with the docent, he knew as much as she did about its history. When he signed his name in their guest register, he wrote, “I’ll be back!”

Later he went back to the Capitol as a page and was reportedly the best page they have ever had. He has always been an avid reader and writer. His ideas have changed through the years, and he has learned much. He is an avid Christian.

In time, I know he will be a great statesman and a credit to our country. He is dedicated, a smart leader and a very loving person. I feel he will never be a backbiting politician. He is the perfect candidate for the 25th Legislative District, state representative, Position No. 2. His ideas are fresh, patriotic and knowledgeable, and he loves our country with all of his heart.

I know that as an Eagle Scout, he will follow the Scout Promise:

On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times,
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

  1. Dear GAWD, this makes me want to vomit !

  2. surething says:

Good Lord, this letter is embarrassing.

  3. ValleyTarts says:

If the intent was to calm our nerves on Zeiger, this just makes it even scarier.

  4. CrazyJim says:

I just wonder if grandma shares Han’s view that by being a Baptist you are praying to a pagan god or that the Girl Scouts are a bunch of “radical feminists, lesbians and cookie peddlers”?

There is more but his writings have been scrubbed from the internet in anticipation of appearing somewhat mainstream.

Shouldn’t a politician stand behind his views instead of trying to hide them? Just saying…………………..

  5. Zillahboy says:

Hey folks, she is his grandmother, and what grandmother doesn’t think that way. Leave her alone.

  6. villager98 says:

Grandma forgot to mention that Hans was also the best trainer at the unicorn ranch.

  7. @Zillahboy – EXACTLY. Every grandmother thinks that way.

Doesn’t mean that Hans’ staff didn’t write this for her and submit it. What a joke. If he weren’t your run-of-the-mill politician, he’d stand by his comments and published articles. He likes to talk about how much work he’s done at a young age, and he has done a lot, but he needs to stand by his principles: anti-gay, anti-feminist and anti-anythingbutChristians.
